How we started

A brief history of the brewery

A new extension project of The Meguro Tavern, initially undertaken in 2011. Construction was completed at the end of 2013. The brew pots were simmering and the fermentors bubbling soon after. Under the name Ikari Jyouzou we brew British style bitters which are all served exclusively in the pub. Currently, 4 taps are dedicated to our delicious craft beers.

From May 2019 we offer an intensive 100-hour+ program for those who want to get involved in craft brewing but have little knowledge. This six-week program is offered at ¥300,000 for lectures and hands-on experience during six or so actual productions. A certificate will be presented at the end of the program to confirm your experience and help with your license application.
